Details

Paper that Can be Recycled:

  • Newspapers, junk mail, magazines, catalogs, office paper and shredded paper, phone books and paperback books, egg cartons.
  • Hard cover books should be delivered to the Freeport Recycling Center 24 hour drop off shed shelves and should not be placed in the recycling bins.
  • Confidential recycling of documents can be done by the staff at the Freeport Recycling Center from 6:00 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. The confidential paper bin is located inside the facility next to the pedestrian door. These papers are only shredded once the bin is full. Please do not put newspaper, magazines, or other shiny paper in this container. If you have shiny paper that includes confidential information, please tear that section up at home and keep it with your regular paper. If you have office paper that has already been shredded, please bring the shredded paper to the recycling center in a bag and give to a staff member. If you bring confidential papers in a brown paper bag, please ensure the brown paper bag is placed in the cardboard bin after the documents go in the confidential paper bin.

 

Paper that Should Go to the Landfill:

  • paper towels, plates or cups, wrapping paper, tissue paper, toilet paper, wallpaper, waxed paper, stickers
