The Winneshiek County Sanitary Landfill is county-owned and operated by the Winneshiek County Area Solid Waste Agency as a non-hazardous landfill. The landfill serves the following areas: Clayton County, Howard County, Winneshiek County, and the City of Postville.
Any load that is not tightly secured and covered with a water resistant, un-torn tarp will be assessed a $20.00 fee.
Monday - Friday: 8AM - 3:30PM
Effective 3/15/22 the landfill will no longer be open on Saturdays
Major Holidays: Closed
In the case of high winds, landfill hours may be adjusted. Watch our Facebook page for closure notifications.

Waste Disposal: $76.00 per ton (2000 lbs.)
*The landfill no longer accepts electronics or appliances. These items must be taken to the Winneshiek County Recycling Center
Additional fees may be assessed by landfill staff for contaminated loads, handling fees, etc.
